Delhi , the National of India has witnessed the highest level of water since 1978 in Yamuna in July 2023 causing a flood situation in low laying areas. The water made the places like ring road near Yamuna and even areas around ITO sinked into water. The river is still flowing above the danger mark.

The flood this year has brought a tough situation for the people living in low laying areas in flood plane. Those people laden with poverty and mostly migrant labourers have taken shelters on the footpath near Mayur Vihar Metro Station. They are living in tough situation making temporary shelters and some support from the government. According to officials more than 5000 people are there. For all those 5000 people, Delhi Government has provided around 70 temporary shelters. People are being given water, food, medicines from the government and many NGOs working there.

The entire area can be seen full of posters banners of politicians from various political parties claiming a support to those flood victims.
